Meghalaya Tour

Meghalaya
5 Days 4 Nights

Overview

Meghalaya, known for its breathtaking landscapes, lush greenery, and heavy rainfall, offers unique experiences throughout the year. The best time to visit Meghalaya largely depends on the type of experiences you're seeking, as the region experiences distinct seasons: summer, monsoon, and winter.

For most travelers seeking a balanced and comfortable experience, the best time to visit Meghalaya is during the summer months from March to June. This period offers a comfortable climate for exploration and various outdoor activities without the challenges posed by heavy rainfall.

However, if you are specifically interested in witnessing the lush greenery and the spectacular waterfalls at their peak, the monsoon season could provide a unique and beautiful experience. The winter season also offers pleasant weather and clear skies, making it an excellent time for sightseeing. Ultimately, the best time to visit Meghalaya depends on your preferences for weather conditions and the type of experiences you wish to have during your trip.

The very day of your trip will include your journey right from Guwahati, all the way to Shillong. Tourists are in for the vacation of their lifetime, as they stopover at the ‘Umium Lake,’ and soak in the serenity of the region. One cannot help but marvel at the spectacular beauty of the place. A must-try Meghalaya package, has got to be on your vacation list, if you’re looking for something truly refreshing.

Tourists can explore the ‘Khasi houses,’ which are predominantly the colonial-styled houses in the region. It offers tourists a whole new perspective and view of the way of life of the people in the region

The second day comes along with a trip from Shillong, heading towards the region of Cherrapunjee. This day calls for a deeper understanding of the area and exploration of the famous ‘Khasi Hills.’ The landscape beauty of the place cannot be understated and calls for a view that’s unlike anything you’ve ever experienced.

Tourists find themselves making their way through and exploring some of the most famous attractions. The ‘Mawkdok Viewpoint,’ ‘Elephant Falls,’, ‘Nohkalikai Falls’ and ‘Mawsmai Caves,’ are just some of the few. This journey provides one of the best Meghalaya packages, a night stay at Cherrapunji.

After breakfast, I drove from Shillong to Mawlynnong Village. Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred to as ‘God’s garden’ has won acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village offers picturesque natural beauty and a trek to the living root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. The village also offers the sight of a natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. Visit Dawki, the Bangladesh Border (Tamabil Border from Bangladesh side). The main attraction is the Umgotriver with crystal clear water. You can enjoy a long boat ride there (boating charges to be paid directly). Evening returns to Cherrapunji.

The last day, calls for a trip back from Shillong, back to your base of Guwahati. This makes for a fun and most worthwhile Meghalaya package, that you’re going to cherish for a long time to come.

Evening you can book a sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra river by yourself. Overnight stay at Guwahati

After breakfast proceed to the airport as per your flight timings. Hope you had a lovely trip. See you again with new destinations.
